Agafay, Zagora or Merzouga: which desert to choose

Agafay, Zagora and Merzouga are not three versions of the same plan: the landscape, the distance from Marrakech and the time you need all change. This comparison helps you choose a destination before looking at activities.

In short

  • Short on time: Agafay, about 30 km from the city.
  • Two days: Zagora, in the Draa valley, about 350 km away.
  • Dunes and three days: Merzouga, next to Erg Chebbi, about 550 km away.
